Case Study

Newbridge SEND School

Fencing and gate works to both protect the SEND children and secure the site.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Location:  Newbridge, Ilford.

Sector:  Building Consultants/Schools

Contract Amount:  £35,255.00

Background: We collaborated closely with the groundwork contractor, who already had a detailed specification from their client. We knew it was going to be a SEND school where there was a high probability that the children would attempt to climb the fence. They had a small swimming pool with a potentially dangerous service area near where the children play, which they wanted segregated and required non security fencing for demarcation.

Solution: To address these challenges, we erected 2.4m and 3m high hoarding at the start of the project, complete with a gate, to protect the site during the construction phase at the live school. We also installed 2.4m high 358 mesh fencing with gates around the perimeter of the site, including the service area, effectively safeguarding the children from the hazards near the swimming pool. Furthermore, we installed 1.2m high 868 mesh fencing with a spike protector for demarcation purposes.

The client was very pleased with the outcome.

What we installed:

  • 40no. Metres of 2.4m and 3m high hoarding.

  • 126no. Metres of 2.4m high 358 mesh fencing.

  • 5no. Gates 1.2m wide single gates.

  • 2no. 3m wide double gates.

  • 8no. Metres of 12m high 868 mesh with spike protector.
