Background: The principal contractor requested us to provide a cost estimate for the site. They had an existing specification, but we made certain adjustments to align with the site's SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) requirements. Specifically, they requested anti-climb fencing around the perimeter and a second line of defence on both sides of the building, all customized to cater to the unique needs of the school's SEND students.

Solution: We installed 2.4m 358 mesh fencing around the complete perimeter and the second line of defence, that leads into the reception area for security. To ensure the safety of the children and their special needs, we installed 1.8m High Rolltop Fencing for all sectional areas and play areas at 2 different heights. We installed 3m High rigid panel mesh Fencing to the MUGA, including bespoke timber Kick boards to the bottom of the fence. We installed some Hit and Miss timber fencing to the bin store and over 30 Gates including vehicle and pedestrian gates, some with access control.

A problem arose at the end of the project where the main entrance vehicle gate was not going to give fast enough access for the vehicles at their busy periods due to the layout of the site. After meeting and going through the options with the client. The solution to ensure the gate opened swiftly at busy periods of the day was to install ANPR to work alongside the standard access control. It was a definite success for the school, and it meant they did not have to leave the gates open during the busy periods. Every vehicle they want to grant access to is entered into the Paxton software, making it quick and simple.

The project was completed on time and within budget.

• 740M of 2.4m High 358 Fencing around the complete perimeter of the site

• 340M of 1.8m High Roll Top Fencing to internal sectional areas of the site.

• 260m 1.2m Roll Top Mesh Fencing for the sectional play areas.

• 90m 3m High Rigid Panel mesh fencing to the MUGA including some bespoke timber tickboards to the bottom of the Fence.

• Hit and Miss timber fence to the bin store.

• Over 30 Gates on site including vehicle and pedestrian gates, some with access control.

• The main entrance vehicle gate was automated including ANPR.
